Party Bus Derby • If you want a great place to eat, check out these fine establishments!

Derby Kansas is the largest suburb of the largest city (Wichita) in Kansas. During it's formative years, Derby remained largely a rural community. It was after World War II that the city of Derby (once named El Paso), began to grow in earnest due to the growth of the aviation industry in the area. At least a partial factor in the sustained population of the city has been the existence of the McConnell Air Force Base which is located in between Derby and Wichita.

Aside from the great bars and restaurants in the area, you may want to consider checking out some of the popular attractions in Derby. The first being the Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park. It truly is the best water park in the region, spanning a healthy 12 acres and is located right near the every busy Rock Road. Another fun side trip for the skaters out there is the Derby Skate Park. This is by far the largest park of it's kind in the Wichita region, and features a good variety of elements to challenge the more advanced skaters out there. For the history buffs out there, is the Derby Historical Museum. The museum finds its home in a 1923 school building that was in service until 1952 when the local high school was built. Inside you will find thousands of historical exhibits that lends an insight into the life of the region's past.

La Hacienda

La Hacienda is our go-to place to enjoy a great Mexican meal. They've always had delicious food, impeccable service, a clean dining room, and really affordable prices given the quantity of food you receive. With any meal, you've simply got to try out the guacamole! It is the best we've ever had, and my favorite mainstay is definitely the enchiladas.

Little Busters

When you want a good burger and a beer in the Derby area, we highly recommend stopping over at Little Busters on Baltimore Ave. We've always encountered really friendly service here, and they always bring out the best bacon double cheeseburger on the planet. So, so, very tasty. Topping it off, the drinks are affordable, and the ambiance is quite cozy.

Hibachi Boy

While this may be the only place to get Japanese and Thai cuisine in Derby, don't let that turn you off because Hibachi Boy is solid. The pad thai of all varieties has always been delicious and if you're in the mood for sushi, you really get a great tasting meal for the amount they're charging. Topping it off with a clean dining room (though not flashy), and friendly service... You can't lose!

Talliano's features one of the most unique and tasty pizza pies in the state of Kansas. Yes, they do have a buffet and you can also go the "made to order" route. The food is always super fresh, the toppings are always plentiful, and the taste is simply out of this world! If you want to get something even more unique, be sure to try the white pizza sauce! It's really a different twist that works out really well.
